Historical Resources Evaluated

The Project

As part of the study, RK&K staff delineated an area of potential effects for the approximately 30-mile long project based on multiple preliminary alternatives. The team identified all previously evaluated and potential newly identified historic resources, those greater than 50 years of age, within the study area.

RK&K staff completed initial historical research, field survey, and preliminary evaluations for each of the 620 resource’s potential for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.

Individual site files including survey forms, photo proof sheets, and detailed site plans were prepared for each resource, as well as presentation materials for the agency coordination meeting with the State Historic Preservation Office.

“The study area presented the project team with a great diversity of resource types, ranging from small rural farms to densely-concentrated urban neighborhoods.”
