Connected, Autonomous, Shared, and Electric Vehicles (CASE)
The acronym CASE was coined in recent years as a way to describe the future of mobility, which includes connected, autonomous, shared, and electric vehicles.
Connected vehicles communicate with each other, their occupants, and transportation infrastructure around them. Automated vehicles perform many, or even all, of the traditional driving tasks without assistance from passengers. Shared vehicles shift ownership away from individuals and toward vehicle fleets, including fleets of fully autonomous vehicles, that would be available as a subscription or on-demand basis. Electric vehicles provide an alternative to gasoline powered vehicles and provide a far more economically and environmentally viable future.
