The Project

As part of the City of Baltimore’s Consent Decree for the removal of sanitary sewer overflows, RK&K provided geotechnical engineering services for the construction of a new 20 MGD pumping station, along with rehabilitation of over 14,000 LF of failing interceptor sewer using cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and pipe bursting technologies as well as construction via tunnel boring machine (TBM) of 5,900 LF of 60-inch interceptor sewer.

“The subsurface conditions on this project were challenging, but seeing the equipment up close and observing the soil/rock conditions as the construction progressed, validating your design, was truly amazing.”
