Miles of Roadway Improved
Water Resources Engineer:

Megan Shanaman

The Project

RK&K engineers designed, permitted, and provided construction support for 4 miles of this Safety and Capacity Improvement project, which dualized the existing roadway by adding 2 additional lanes.

High levels of interdisciplinary coordination allowed our energetic team to successfully complete the project within an expedited 20-month schedule. Our Water Resource engineers designed 2 stormwater management ponds and over 14 miles of swales that provide water quality treatment and runoff conveyance to ensure safety of the traveling public during rain storms.

Our highly engaged engineers also completed Erosion and Sediment Control design to protect adjacent environmentally sensitive streams and wetlands from during construction sedimentation.

“This award-winning Design-Build project gave me the opportunity to gain a wide array of design experience on a high visibility project. It’s rewarding to see it successfully constructed and helping people travel more safely with reduced traffic.”
