RK&K is currently hiring an experienced Construction Project Manager with experience in Heavy Civil / Highway construction projects to join our team in Georgia. As a Construction Project Manager at RK&K you will manage, grow, and strengthen our highway construction management/inspection (CEI) business throughout the State. Must have experience leading teams of inspectors and project engineers on GDOT projects. Ideally, this person can be in the North/Central portion of the State.
Essential Function
- Management and administration of heavy civil, highway and structures projects including leading teams of Project Engineers, Junior Project Engineers, Office Managers, Senior Inspectors, Inspectors, CPM Reviewers, and administrative staff throughout the state
- Participate in Preconstruction Services (scoping, utility conflicts, constructability & biddability)
- Visit construction sites to monitor project progress and adherence to plans and specifications
- Manage project inspection staff and ensuring their training and equipment needs are met
- Eagerly engage our clients, conduct client site visits, and support business development activities
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within Georgia
- Lead and/or manage all elements of projects to ensure contract compliance for roadway and bridge construction projects
- Develop and maintain area Construction Management / CEI Services staff by recruiting, selecting, managing, and training employees
- Demonstrate knowledge of on-call service contracts as well as mining contracts for task orders
- Update and track financial information including cost projections for projects
- Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers
Required Skills and Experience
- Fifteen (15) + years of experience in roadway and structures construction
- Five (5) + years of experience managing construction projects in Georgia
- Professional Engineer or Certified Construction Manager
- Advanced working knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Working knowledge of GDOT manuals, policies and procedures, include the Construction Manual
- Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
- Ability to train, coordinate, and supervise inspection technicians in the field
- Understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
- Statewide travel between job sites is expected, clean driving record
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Previous experience with GDOT, especially as Project Engineer
- Previous experience with GDOT Districts 1 and 2
