3-D Specialist/Graphic Designer

RK&K is looking for a creative and motivated individual to join our growing team as a Graphic Designer/3-D Artist. This person will report directly to the Graphics Manager in our Baltimore office.  Responsibilities include using a PC to assist our team with 3D models, animations, renderings, real-time interactive models, virtual and augmented reality experiences, photo editing and other illustrations.   This person will also develop display layouts, technical illustrations, maps, logos, vector graphics, typical sections, asset libraries, photo editing and other illustrations.

 The Graphic Designer/3-D Artist will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to client budgets and schedules.

 

The successful candidate will be creative, detail-oriented, flexible, and a good team player with a strong working knowledge of color, texture, and light as well as industry-standard software.

 Essential Function

  • Using 3D modeling, texture, mapping, and other techniques to create photorealistic graphics, simulations, visual effects, and animations.
  • Develop various artistic layouts and technical illustrations based on engineering plans.
  • Collaborating with internal and/or external clients to discuss desired graphics.
  • Understanding the project requirements and conceptualizing creative ideas.
  • Receiving feedback from internal and/or external clients and editing your creations based on the comments received.

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
  • Knowledge of the A/E/C industry
  • Strong portfolio of previous work and completed projects
  • Strong working knowledge of industry-standard software, including Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, After Effects and InDesign), AutoCAD, Autodesk 3ds Max and Sketch Up.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, project plans and topographical maps.
  • Excellent creativity and artistic skills.
  • An eye for composition, realism, texture, color, and lighting.
    • Good communication and teamwork skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Willingness to remain up-to-date on the latest creative software and hardware.

Work Environment

 

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May lift or move banker boxes, paper, books, and office equipment up to twenty-five pounds.
