Miles of Roadway Improved
Manager, Environmental Health & Safety Services:

The Project

RK&K guides PennDOT’s design firms and CM/CI staff in the environmental due diligence and contaminated soil management and beneficial reuse. Our experts developed minimum EDD criteria for the design teams, developed a stakeholder-accessible GIS database presenting EDD finding and statistical data, negotiated beneficial reuse of marginal contaminated soil with PADEP, and assist CM/CI staff’s oversight of contractors implementation of bid specifications.

There are 6 design sections and 15 construction sections to this approximate 8-mile reconstruction and improvement to I-95 that parallels the Delaware River fronting and north of Philadelphia.

“It is highly rewarding to play a role in the reconstruction of I-95 in Philadelphia - collaborating with multiple stakeholders to develop and implement contaminated materials management that are cost-effective and protective of the environment.”
