RK&K is hiring a Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Tennessee team in Knoxville. As a Geotechnical Engineer at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to geotechnical projects for variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors; you will conduct and supervise field investigations; develop design computations; and prepare of geotechnical recommendations, contract plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates.
Essential Functions
- Assist in the development geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs,
- Perform geotechnical analysis using approved software,
- Preparation of bridge, roadway, retaining wall foundation, and structure recommendations,
- Preparation of Geotechnical Sheets, and
- Collaborate on innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering
Required Skills and Experience
- BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree
- Professional Engineer License is required
- Four (4) + years of Geotechnical Design experience
- Passion for client service and engineering
- Significant understanding of the following: gINT, LPile, APile, MSEW, FB-Pier, Rocscience products, and GRLWEAP
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of Microstation
Preferred Skills and Experience
- MS or advanced degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- Six (6) + years of Geotechnical Design experience, TDOT experience preferred
