The Project
Under two consecutive three-year contracts, RK&K has provided on-call CE&I services for transportation construction projects statewide, with staff having worked in five of the seven SCDOT Districts. Services have included performing inspection and testing in the areas of concrete, foundation, earthwork, drainage and base, erosion control, traffic control, asphalt roadway and plant, signal installation, survey verification, etc. RK&K monitors contractors’ work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, and monitors sampling and testing procedures as outlined in SCDOT’s Construction Manual. RK&K also verifies that construction estimates match quantities installed by the contractor and make recommendations for payment. Staff use ProjectWise and SiteManager for project documentation.

- Roadway Repaving and Rehabilitation
- Roadway Widening
- Sidewalk Retrofits
- Bridge Replacements, Rehabilitations, and Deck Resurfacings
- Historic T-Bridge Rehabilitation
