RK&K provided geotechnical engineering services for TDOT’s Region 1 area which encompasses Anderson, Blount, Campbell, Carter, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, Monroe, Morgan, Roane, Scott, Sevier, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union and Washington Counties.
The contract consisted of various as-needed geotechnical assignments including surface and subsurface explorations, engineering recommendations and design for rock slopes, rockfall stabilization, sinkhole assessment and mediation, and roadway and bridge projects.
