Senior Project Manager – Environmental Services

RK&K has an immediate opportunity for a result-driven Senior Manager/Senior Project Manager in the Environmental, Services group supporting RK&K’s public and private sector client needs in its Southern US operations.  This person is responsible to lead and/or work as part of a multi-discipline project team to capture, develop, and implement environmental due diligence, contaminant investigation, remediation, permitting, and facility compliance evaluations supporting infrastructure improvement, real estate transactions, and civil engineering projects.  We seek a candidate with proven client and project management experience complimented with strong technical skills. The ideal candidate is highly communicative, able to develop creative technical solutions, takes initiative, and seeks an opportunity to help build RK&K’s EH&S services. The ideal candidate will operate from one of RK&K’s offices in Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, or South Carolina; other locations will be considered.

Essential Function

The manager position will work direct/lead independent or multi-discipline projects/tasks supporting public and private-sector client projects. Skillset and abilities required include:

  • Direct, lead, and implement concurrent environmental services projects/tasks
  • Assist in identifying and capturing work for requiring EH&S services
  • Direct and management of internal and external staff and subcontractors
  • Possess a firm understanding of governing Federal and State regulations, standards, and guidance such as OSHA, ASTM standards, state DOT clearances/permits, etc.
  • Assess and interpret data, analyzes, reports/communicates alternatives and potential impacts to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
  • Develop project budgets and track various metrics
  • Collaborates with others to prepare technical reports/memoranda offering solutions to client projects
  • Plan, organize, document and participate in client and public meetings
  • Managing and mentoring staff
  • Participate in group planning, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Lead/participate in proposal and marketing efforts and client management 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Biology, Geology, or Earth Sciences
  • Professional license, professional registration, and/or certification (PE, PG, CHMM, CSP, CIH, etc.)
  • 10-15 years of environmental services and management experience
  • Demonstrated experience working in a highly collaborative, team-based environment
  • Strong oral and written communications skill with experience in client coordination and communications
  • Experience with the development of technical work scopes, price proposals, project correspondence, and ability to track budget
  • Ability to manage direct work and work by others against schedules and established budgets 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of state DOT environmental clearances, due diligence, and permits
  • Multi-state license, professional registration, and/or technical certification(s)
