RK&K’s Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring a Senior Inspector – Project Records Manager to join our team in Virginia Beach, VA. As a Project Records Manager with RK&K you will strengthen our construction engineering and inspection team while providing advanced level and technical work supporting engineers on complex and routine projects including highway, bridge, design-bid-build, and design-build.

 

 Essential Function

  • Maintain construction project records and document control under the direction of a Construction Manager or designee
  • Sets up, process, and track construction related project documents
  • utilizing the Department’s construction contract administration software
  • Generates or coordinates the develop of reports and project related
  • correspondence
  • Attends and prepares minutes for various project meetings
  • Assists in project close-out and maintain as-built drawings
  • Issues monthly CPEs for prime and subcontractors
  • Monitors contractor compliance with state and federal requirements related To Equal Employment Opportunity and wages
  • Monitor and maintain issue log regarding Notices of Intent To file claims against the Department and ensure that the records are complete, factual, and that a project timeline of each issue is included
  • Institute document tracking to ensure timeliness of responses and provide a record of document flow
  • Complete final records reviews or audits
  • Recordkeeping for the overall contract administration and reporting as required

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience supporting VDOT or other transportation agencies on design and/or construction projects
  • Familiar with Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build documentation requirements – contract administration
  • Construction Inspection Experience
  • Experience with preparation of independent estimates
  • Organization and recordkeeping skills for documenting payment of road and bridge repairs
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office software such as MS Excel and MS Word; proficient in Adobe pdf editor, Bluebeam, and PlanGrid
  • Ability to work independently on small construction projects
  • Must possess excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Project Management experience
  • Construction Materials Testing Certifications
