Join Our Team

Our Plats and Surveys team is actively seeking a Maryland Licensed Land Surveyor to join our team in the Baltimore, MD area and support the continued growth of our survey department. As a Licensed Land Surveyor at RK&K you will work closely with our office and field surveyors and engineers to provide accurate and timely data collection, analysis, and reporting for project planning and design. You will work directly for our department manager and help lead the daily operations of the survey team. Our team performs many different types of surveys in support of our transportation, utility, rail, structures, environmental and site development groups for City, County, State and federal agencies in Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

Essential Function

  • Manage survey contracts and project tasks including schedule and budgets
  • Direct and manage survey staff through the course of a survey project
  • Quality reviews of survey projects
  • Attend project status meetings with engineering/design teams
  • Preparation and Quality review of right of way and easement plats
  • Preparation and Quality review of metes and bounds descriptions
  • Property deed and plat research, review title reports and title commitments
  • Mentor and train survey staff
  • Prepare survey estimates and proposals
  • Support management of daily survey operations
  • Topographical Surveys  
  • Right of Way Surveys
  • Boundary Surveys
  • Control Surveys
  • ALTA / NSPS Land Title Surveys
  • Right of Way and Easement plats

Required Skills and Experience

  • Three (3) years of experience as a Licensed Land Surveyor
  • Must be a good communicator and detail oriented
  • Must have knowledge or MS Outlook / Outlook365, MS Teams and Word
  • Experience working on Maryland State Highway Administration (MDOT / MSHA) and/or Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) Survey CAD standards is a plus.
  • Knowledge of MicroStation Open Roads and/or AutoCAD Civil3D is a plus
  • Maryland Land Surveyors License or ability to obtain within 1 year
