JOB DUTIES:
- Maintain full familiarity with plans, specifications, construction schedules, and contractor’s plans on assigned contracts, the Project Management Plan (PMP), and current safety regulations in order to be knowledgeable of the project team (i.e., The client and multiple contractors) responsibilities, disseminating such information to office and field staff as required to keep the client accurately informed of relevant matters. Document control, assist configuration management, and maintain project records (contract documents, contractor submittals, requests for information, project logs, minutes, notices, memos, etc.).
- Develop and maintain the submittal log for the contractor contracts.
- Update data in the eBuilder system through direct input of contract-related information or uploading other data files.
- Verify technical documents for the client’s project record, including as-built plans, drawings, and schematics that have been submitted by the contractors.
- Assist the Construction Manager on project status reports to identify progress and monitor the project schedule, budget, and staffing plan.
- Maintain the contract files and project logs that include contractor correspondence, invoices and progress payments, contract changes and claims, timesheets and overtime, and cost estimates for changes to contract work, assist WMATA in reviewing contractor claims to determine the merit of claims and negotiating cost and/or time adjustments based upon such claims.
- Assist with preparing change orders and contract modifications. Review contractors’ submittal of shop and working drawings and material samples and distribute as required, returning the submittal to the contractor with appropriate comments and approval status.
- Disseminate information pertaining to the submittal to the field staff as required.
- Monitor and maintain contract logs with the distribution of documents between contractor and the client staff for compliance with contract time commitments.
- Coordinate the collection of daily inspection reports from field inspectors and record lost time for the contractor, reconcile the lost time with reports from the contractor.
- Support staff with the collection of contract data and documentation to resolve contract changes and claims and perform other project-related duties.
- Assist the Construction Manager with quantity take-offs, and verifications for payments/project records.
- Assist construction inspectors and contractor representatives in the interpretation or clarification of contract drawings and specifications.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or a related field plus 2 years of experience as an Office Engineer or any related occupation
