RK&K is seeking a Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental / Water Resources Team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As an RK&K environmental scientist you will be actively involved in a diversity of water resource related projects for local utilities, government agencies and private companies to protect the environment, and provide water supply and water management solutions throughout south and central Florida.

Essential Functions
- Conduct permit compliance and construction inspection for deep water supply wells and Class I underground injection control (UIC) wells
- Prepare task documentation and progress summary reports
- Prepare lithologic summaries of soil and rock profiles for deep water supply wells and Class I underground injection control (UIC) wells
- Observe and document well construction activity to ensure compliance with State regulations and design specifications
- Perform well inspection and well testing and rehabilitation procedures in remote locations
- Interact with clients and regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with other water resource and environmental professionals
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Geosciences, Environmental Sciences or equivalent
- Team-oriented
- Adept at juggling multiple tasks
- Excellent at written and verbal communication
- Motivated to find creative solutions to environmental problems
- Excited to work outdoors in all seasons
- Ability to travel to project sites and work outside
- 0 to 5 years relevant experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Environmental Science or equivalent
- Candidates with internship and/or other directly related work experience highly preferred
- Experience in Florida
- Experience with field documentation of Florida lithologic profile
- OSHA HAzCom Training
- Lithologic identification, geosciences background, construction monitoring, CADD, and GIS experience is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid training
