LEED certification provides independent verification of a building or neighborhood’s green features, allowing for the design, construction, operations and maintenance of resource-efficient, high-performing, healthy, cost-effective buildings.
Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design
The USGBC has a variety of available rating systems ranging from their most well-known, LEED for new construction (BD+C), to renovations, neighborhood planning, operations and maintenance, campuses, and more. The systems all aim to provide accountability, encourage health and well-being, aid in meeting ESG goals, attract high quality building users, reduce carbon emissions, and provide better air quality. The credits vary per system.
