RK&K’s Geotechnical Services Group realizes thorough geotechnical exploration is fundamental to the planning and development of roadways and structures and provides a depth of expertise in geotechnical exploration and engineering evaluation combining knowledge and experience in geology with the up to date computation methods and software. Services include all phases of Geotechnical Engineering Reports (GER); guiding the design of the geotechnical portion of projects; and plans, specifications, cost estimates (PS&E), QA/QC testing, and construction services for bridges; earthwork; slope failure, landslides, and rock fall repairs; reinforced soil slopes (RSS) and mechanically stabilized embankments (MSE); structures/building/bridge foundations; excavation support systems; sink holes and solution activity evaluation; underpinning and foundation repair; foundation and roadway design in karst areas; embankment construction over soft ground including EPS and light weight CLSM fill; ground modification using dynamic compaction, soil cement or lime/flyash mixing, deep soil mixing, wick drains and stone columns and groundwater controls.
