CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS RK&K Engineers, one of the leading engineering/construction management firms in the Mid Atlantic and Southeastern Regions has openings for Construction Inspectors experienced with Utilities and Pump Station ProjectsInspectors. A partnership with an 850 year history, we are seeking energetic and dedicated personnel to continue our tradition of excellence primarily in the Newport News, Hampton Roadsand Norfolk, Virginia areas. The Inspector position requires knowledge and experience of sewer system related projects, including sewage pumping stations, underground force main and gravity sewer system installations, metering manholes, incidental electrical and system controls, cast-in-place concrete and pre-cast concrete sewer structures, earthwork including excavation, fill, and compaction, and other incidental construction. Inspector should be familiar with sewage pump station and sewer system testing requirements, should have a working knowledge of basic computer related skills and tasks such as email, internet, and electronic document preparation and processing such as MS Word Word,and Excel and Project. Duties may include but not be limited to schedule monitoring and inspection of on site construction operations, preparation of Daily Reports of project activities, and monitoring work for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals. The Inspector will act as liaison between the project engineer, owner, and the contractor for project related events such as contractor’s progress meetings, evaluation of change order proposals, payment requests, and Requests for Information (RFI). The Inspector will be responsible for preparing, monitoring, and maintaining documentation of all field tests and preliminary and final inspection punch lists. The Inspector position is a Part-time/Full-time position; generally between 24 and 40 hours / week. RK&K has an immediate need for a Hydrology/Hyrdraulics Engineer with 5-10 years of experience in the design and analysis of storwater management facilities, erosion and sediment control measures and general storm drainage systems. Requires a PE license and a civil/environmental engineering degree or related field work as well as knowledge of drainage design software such as TR-20 and HEC-RAS. Applicants must have good business skills to manage schedules, budgets, and design processes as well as market site/civil, roadway and drainage projects. Successful candidate will interface with clients, review agencies and the design team. Position requires a BS degree or higher; 10 years + experience and must be a Registered Professional Engineer. Excellent verbal and written skills desired along with the ability to assist with proposal and interview presentations.
